College Now is a collaborative program between the City University of New York and the New York City Department of Education. College Now offers high school students a taste of college life by permitting them to take college preparatory and college-level courses while still in high school. These courses are offered tuition free to the students and are held before or after the regular school day.

This course is an overview of the criminal justice system, where the history of crime and the courts are learned. Students will learn basic criminal justice concepts and the theories which will help them focus on potential careers in the law and in law enforcement. Current issues that involve the topics of crime, the police, and victims of crime are also discussed in class. In addition, the course covers sentencing and the lives of those in prison, as well as their re-entry into society.
